So I clicked my "Blade and Quill" bookmark button and took a look at my control panel stats...

Shit. Was it really that long? (It seemed like only yesterday that the strange light in the sky beamed me onto the spaceship). Do you guys really have stuff to talk about when I'm not watching? (I was certain that you were all simply a figment of my imagination).
It's great to see so much activity going on. Still a healthy core community telling tales and swapping insults. It looks like several guildies are even still playing WAR! I'm impressed.
For me, the last 4 months have been very busy. But no more busy than usual - I'm not sure how or why I got out of the habit of dropping into the forums. I just didn't think I had time. Work has been tough (I've had a change of role and two changes of boss in the last 4 months). I had an "argument" with a postal van cycling home from work before Xmas (I was doing 35mph downhill and he did a random U-turn right in front of me. I luckily walked away from the scene with just bruises and grazes). I had a wonderful Xmas period (with two wee boys aged 6 and 3, it's just the most magical time!). I was in the French Alps for New Year (learning to snowboard). And all these things conspired, alongside the normal drudgery of life, to keep me away from these forums.
I'm not sure what changed. But I felt I had to pop my head back in. Had to say "hi". Had to wish everyone the best for 2012. Had to ask how you're all getting on! :)
And I'm glad that I did. I see that GW2 is on the horizon. We've always said that GW2 was the "next thing" for us - and I'd love to help develop our plans for a future community in that game. New challenges for us all in a new year. New friends to make. New adventures. Hell, if my employer comes good at bonus time there might even be a new PC for me! ;)
After such a long absence, I've lost track of the ebb and flow of the forum conversations. I'll try my best to get back into the swing of things - be gentle whilst I get back up to speed. :D I hope you are all well. I hope you are all having fun (whatever game you may be playing at present - even if it is "only" real-life!).
It's nice to be back.
