So I clicked my "Blade and Quill" bookmark button and took a look at my control panel stats...

You last visited 09-22-2011 at 8:45pm.

New posts: 799.

Shit. Was it really that long? (It seemed like only yesterday that the strange light in the sky beamed me onto the spaceship). Do you guys really have stuff to talk about when I'm not watching? (I was certain that you were all simply a figment of my imagination).

It's great to see so much activity going on. Still a healthy core community telling tales and swapping insults. It looks like several guildies are even still playing WAR! I'm impressed.

For me, the last 4 months have been very busy. But no more busy than usual - I'm not sure how or why I got out of the habit of dropping into the forums. I just didn't think I had time. Work has been tough (I've had a change of role and two changes of boss in the last 4 months). I had an "argument" with a postal van cycling home from work before Xmas (I was doing 35mph downhill and he did a random U-turn right in front of me. I luckily walked away from the scene with just bruises and grazes). I had a wonderful Xmas period (with two wee boys aged 6 and 3, it's just the most magical time!). I was in the French Alps for New Year (learning to snowboard). And all these things conspired, alongside the normal drudgery of life, to keep me away from these forums.

I'm not sure what changed. But I felt I had to pop my head back in. Had to say "hi". Had to wish everyone the best for 2012. Had to ask how you're all getting on! :)

And I'm glad that I did. I see that GW2 is on the horizon. We've always said that GW2 was the "next thing" for us - and I'd love to help develop our plans for a future community in that game. New challenges for us all in a new year. New friends to make. New adventures. Hell, if my employer comes good at bonus time there might even be a new PC for me! ;)

After such a long absence, I've lost track of the ebb and flow of the forum conversations. I'll try my best to get back into the swing of things - be gentle whilst I get back up to speed. :D I hope you are all well. I hope you are all having fun (whatever game you may be playing at present - even if it is "only" real-life!).

It's nice to be back.

Hi boss
Good to hear from you again! Was beginning to think that our current evil overlord(Avika) was going to lead us to glory in GW2.

I had an "argument" with a postal van cycling home from work before Xmas (I was doing 35mph downhill and he did a random U-turn right in front of me. I luckily walked away from the scene with just bruises and grazes).
Really good to hear you wasn’t hurt. Was hit by a car while cycling home from work 4-5 years a go and im still "gun shy" and will make a full stop when ever I see a car making a turn towards me.

We've always said that GW2 was the "next thing" for us - and I'd love to help develop our plans for a future community in that game. New challenges for us all in a new year.
The ship is sailing steady as she goes, but we ofc need our captain when we move game :)

A quick WAR community update:

The WAR regulars: Prelate, Woeboy, Avika, Butche, Aelahin, Derbin, Rocktaker, Bryan, Ventai, Skar(one of our "new" Azgal recruits), Berkata ("new" recruit), Urshu, Pyro (new recruit that is stopping with WAR but will rejoin us in GW2) and ofc your humble narrator. With around 4-8 ppl online pr night. Most nights we can run a pretty decent premade with 1-2 tanks, 2 healers and 2-3 Dps. We are on a smaller break from our Vulture Lord-PvE runs, but we will pick it up again next month.

All in all, our guild is still going strong, but our numbers are dwindling slowly.

Our alliance has taken a turn for the worse, we are 4 guilds (B&Q, Red shadows, Ruhns regiment and Fallen legion) and we are the only guild that can field a full party. The 3 other guilds can field around 6 man together.

Overall WAR is very slowly bleeding to death, no new content in 3 years and the old problem with the gear gap is becoming more obvious over the past few months. There are still good fights/ fun to be had; we can still field a good 6 man premade that can match most other 6 man groups.

My guess is that WAR will be down to one server when GW2 hits.

Future migration to GW2:
Most/all of the WAR ppl are moving or at least trying out GW2, cant remember if anyone has turned down the offer to move to GW2 with us.
And I believe that with some begging/ veiled threats we can get Bludgen, fatchimp, Danois, Ovation, Poleaxe and Tinny to rejoin us in GW2.

Torst and SFB will properly also be interested in either joining us or forming a close alliance with BnQ. This combined with our SW:TOR guys rejoining us in GW2 should make for a strong and friendly GW2 roster.

IT LIVVVEEESSSSS!!!! THE FORUM LURKER LIVES!

Welcome back on board baz.

WAR still going strong - although split light/dark in the guild for now (for list of traitors to be violently purged by the holy inquisition under protocol #8472 see attached hitlist)

So now, in the span of one week, Baz is alive again and I've seen Elysium, Danish Huscarls and Balck Company active in t3...

What rhymes with Apocalypse?...

Me and Poleaxe will def be staying with the guild and playing GW2 on release, in fact atm we are both trying out SWTOR for a couple of months and are in the guild there along with Lim, Einrich etc. I am contemplating returning to War for a few months as well, depending on how the end game in SWTOR turns out for me. I may sub for both and play alternate times (don't tell the wife though;) Lookin forward to us all getting back together again in GW2.

Good to hear Tinny. If you are giving WAR another go, try and talk Pole to come with you :)

Hey Konf

Pole still has an active subscription in War so he may not be too hard to persuade to play it once the SWTOR novelty wears off. you may see us both back on for a bit in the near future..who knows.

Gober! Nice to have you drop by and give an update. Glad you are having fun in SWTOR - I remember you frothing with excitement years back at the prospect of release! :D

Do pop back every now and again - would be great to play alongside you and Paulos once more if you give GW2 a shot. :)
