Hi all,

<Blade and Quill> is now ranked the 13th highest Order guild for renown!

We have just overtaken the infamous <Nolby Pride>, which is an achievement that all old DAoC players should be very happy with! (OK, we have 450 members and they have 44 - but let's not split hairs!)

On a serious note, our little guild is gaining renown and levels extremely fast. WarDB doesn't let me see how quickly we are gaining renown compared to other guilds, but my feel is that we are one of the fastest renown-earning guilds at the moment.

Overtaking hardcore RvR guilds (like Nolby Pride) is a great achievement for our casual guild. We are fast approaching a top 10 position for renown - at our current rate, I expect we'll be a top 10 guild in just a few weeks. After that, who knows how high we can go!

So, congratulations to everyone who is out there competing in RvR and earning renown! From T1 to T4, it's clear that soon everyone will recognise <Blade and Quill> on the battlefield!

I am using wardb as my source. What source are you using? And more disturbing, why is the data so different?

It's just dawned on me that we're talking about two different measures!

We are, indeed, guild level 22 and there are plenty of guild above <Blade and Quill> in guild level terms.

However, guild level reflects lots of things and seems to be influenced by the proportion of active high-level members in the guild. Since Nolby is a small guild of lvl40's and we are a very large guild with a full spread of levels, it's not surprising that they are higher guild level than we are.

My original post is talking specifically about renown. This is only earnt in RvR and is the most appropriate parameter to see how RvR-active each guild is. For renown, we have 22 million (perhaps 23 million by now) points - which is more than Nolby have.

I'm not too interested in guild level. I think all guilds that stick with WAR for 12-18 months will get to guild level 40. After that, the only measure that will differentiate guilds will be renown. And I'm pleased to say that our guild is doing great in racking up renown!

Apologies if my original post didn't make this clear.
